winchester short rifle serial number lookup

Winchester did not manufacture a Model 27. Any ideas of how to get her safe and back in operation. I've sent it to a gunsmith and he said he was not able to help me. I also have a Model 67, non finger groove stock, flush takedown screw, and some kind of odd looking front sight (looks aftermarket)and a weird looking rear sight mounted like the pic.
